Preparing for your maternity session

Your maternity session is a celebration of your powerful presence as a woman creating life. It is important during our communication that we go over all of your preferences and ideas. This will help your session run smoothly and ensure your story is documented as authentically as possible.


I have 2 exceptional women that I work with for professional hair and make up services who come right to my studio to make pampering yourself as easy as possibly. Showing yourself some self love during the end of your pregnancy is often a really lovely experience and all of my clients love this service.


My client closet is filled with stunning dressed by Reclamation, Seila Art, MiI Estilo and many more. These are are available for use at no charge to my clients. These items are kept clean, steamed and ready for photos. If you choose to bring your own dresses or wardrobe, please ensure they are neat, wrinkle free and photo ready.  


Tips For preparing


  • Get a good rest the night before your session
  • Hands, legs and fingernails will be visible in your photos. Treating yourself to a mani pedi the week of your session can help elevate the small details.
  • Whether or not you receive professional nail care, ensuring your nails are neat, clean and neutrally colours are always flattering.


Check List To Bring


  • Any dresses or outfits you wish to use from home
  • Skin toned underwear and bra, any other lingerie you wish to incorporate, a sports bra if you wish to do the classic jeans and bra photo.
  • Any sentimental items you wish to incorporate.

Your comfort and safety is #1

Every session is planned with your well being in mind

If your pregnancy is deemed high risk, I ask that you discuss any limitations with your OB or Midwife prior to your session. This will ensure that we can plan and accommodate your session with your safety in mind. For convenience, my studio building does have an elevator, as well as a bathroom located next to my space.


Staying hydrated during your session is important and complimentary bottled water, beverages and snacks are available to all clients.
